“My daughter and I recently met you at Fight Summit. You gave her a copy of your book. I started reading your book on the flight home and finished it before we landed. I am writing this email because I wanted you to know it was life changing for me. I did not realize this fact until today while I was at work thinking about her. Since reading your book I have referred back to it several times while talking to my daughter and I have thought of it each and every day. My situation is a little different as I am not an athlete or a coach but a parent trying to guide my daughter through her journey as a martial artist and instructor. Thank you so much for this book.”

Sincerely,

O’CONNELL ENTERS HALL OF FAME

Congratulations to Tom O’Connell who enters the National High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

It is the 12th year the NHSCA has honored these achievers in the high school coaching community nationwide. This year’s recipients, selected in a total of 20 boys and girls sports, are from 17 different states. Two come from California, Connecticut and Florida, with 14 states claiming one honoree each.
While these coaches represent a multitude of different backgrounds, they exhibit a common theme: a strong dedication to supporting and developing high school student-athletes.
“The coaches we are honoring today are outstanding examples for successful high school coaches in their sports,” NHSCA executive director Bob Ferraro Jr. said. “They place a high value on the teamwork skills their players learn for success in the classroom and on the field, and we are proud to be honoring them.”
Baseball –Tom O’Connell
Catholic Central High School, Burlington, Wisconsin
The first high school coach ever elected president of the college-dominated American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), O’Connell has spent 42 years coaching baseball. From 1969 through 2000, he coached at Milwaukee Pulaski High School, where his teams won more games than any sport in the school’s history. He led Pulaski to state tournament berths in 1981, when they reached the state semifinals, and in 1989. He has been at Burlington Catholic Central for 11 seasons, and his Hilltopper teams have made the state quarterfinals eight consecutive years.
They went on to win four state championships, in 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2010. O’Connell has twice been named the Diamond Sports National High School Coach of the Year by the ABCA, most recently in 2010, and has been named Midwest Coach of the Year four times. In 1995, he skippered the USA Baseball North Team in the United States Olympic Festival in Colorado, a team that featured four future major leaguers. O’Connell chaired the ABCA’s High School Division from 1984-96, and now serves on its Board of Directors and heads its Ethics in Coaching Award Committee. A former president of the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association, O’Connell organized and ran the group’s annual clinic and convention for 20 years and, in 1991, was named its Man of the Year. He has been inducted into three Halls of Fame: the Old Time Baseball Players Hall of Fame in Milwaukee, the WBCA Hall of Fame in 1987 and the ABCA Hall of Fame in 2007, becoming only the 16th high school coach to be inducted in the ABCA’s 64-year history.

CONGER TEACHES LIFE SKILLS THROUGH BASEBALL

Check out this great e-mail I got below from one of the top young coaches in the country, Bryan Conger at Tarleton State University in Texas. Coach Conger is making a positive difference in the lives of his players and producing a great product on the field through his hard work and dedication to teaching the Mental game.

Conger is a member of The Brian Cain Peak Performance Inner Circle.  You can join as well and better develop your ability to coach life skills through baseball and become a coach of significance.  Click Here For More Inner Circle Information.

“Hey Brian.  I Thought you might enjoy this. It’s from one of our seniors this last year. He’s from the Dominican republic and when he got to the states he didn’t speak any English. Now he is one semester from earning his degree. Great kid. Here is what he texted me.” Coach Conger

“Hey Congo, things are going good for me. Working and studying a lot. I’d like to say thanks for giving me the tools for a better life after baseball… That Brian Cain deal (The Peak Performance System – PRIDE) really works. Everything that you and him have said, I have been able to put in practice at work and life outside of baseball. It’s unbelievable how effective that stuff is.”

CONGRATS TO COACH AUTREY – INNER CIRCLE MEMBER

July 2, 2011

By Todd Wills Corsicana Daily Sun

FROM INSIDE ARTICLE – Autrey uses Brian Cain Peak Performance videos (briancain.com) to teach his players about the mental side of the game. Cain works with UFC star Georges St. Pierre, the Washington Nationals, college powers Alabama, TCU and others and high schools Southlake Carroll and Duncanville.

Matt Curry, who played at Red Oak before Autrey’s arrival and then at TCU — he is currently playing Double-A baseball for Altoona in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization — remembers stopping by his old high school and seeing Autrey’s players watching the Cain videos.

“At TCU we paid Cain a lot of money to come talk to us,” Curry said. “And there the Red Oak players were watching his videos.

“I still use Cain’s stuff today. (Heath’s) teaching those guys at a young age something I never thought about in high school. I got it in my junior year in college.”

Autrey has a notebook he will give each of his players when school starts next month. In it are  Continue reading

CONGRATULATIONS TO JUSTIN DEHMER

HEAD BASEBALL COACH – MATENSDALE-ST. MARY’S (Iowa)

Justin Dehmer, Head Baseball Coach at Martensdale-St. Marys in Iowa. 75 Game winning streak.

Congratulations to Inner Circle Member, Justin Dehmer, Head Coach at Martensdale-St Marys (Iowa). A Master of The Mental Game Coach Dehmer e-mailed me last year about his championship season where they went undefeated, 43-0. After starting this season 32-0 he has run their winning streak to 75 games in a row.

Thought you might be interested in seeing how the mental game has influenced their program and allowed them to play one pitch at a time and be true one pitch warriors. Coach Dehmer has done a great job teaching the mental game and his terminology and philosophies have paid off big time within their framework and culture.

Enjoy the video below.
